Learning Rights Law Center (“LRLC”) is a nonprofit organization that provides legal services to disadvantaged students not receiving an equitable public education.   


LRLC focuses its efforts on the most vulnerable K-12 students who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or otherwise face discrimination. LRLC addresses the crisis in the education system through advocacy, litigation, training and community organizing.

Administrative Assistant will work between the hours of 8:30 am – 5pm Monday through Friday at LRLC’s main office.  


  • High school diploma or college degree;

  • Fluent Spanish speaker (many clients are monolingual Spanish speakers);

  • Able to multi-task effectively while maintaining a positive attitude;

  • Work well in team-oriented environment;

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;

  • Strong attention to detail;

  • Ability to prioritize and work independently;

  • Can be trusted to handle confidential information with discretion;

  • Strong computer skills – proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook; and

  • Knowledge of Salesforce a plus.


Under the direction of the Education Rights Clinic Manager, the Administrative Assistant’s responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with parents of the clients of LRLC;

  • Providing oral Spanish/English interpretation and translation as needed;

  • Coordinating and attending community intake days outside of office;

  • Conducting intake eligibility screenings and scheduling intake appointments;

  • Conducting intakes;

  • Conducting training,orientation, and overseeing ERC volunteers;

  • Maintaining and updating ERC resources;

  • Setting up intake rooms;

  • Scheduling meetings and appointments;

  • Developing and maintaining a filing system;

  • Maintaining contact lists;

  • Producing and distributing correspondence, memos, letters, faxes and forms;

  • Assisting in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports;

  • Covering the reception desk when required

  • Organizing travel arrangements;

  • Submitting and reconcile expense reports;

  • Handling sensitive information in a confidential manner; and

  • Providing other administrative and legal support as needed.


Salary varies depending on qualifications and experience. Includes full health and dental benefits, paid federal and state holidays, plus paid vacation and sick leave, and commuter benefits.
